How Does CBD Improve the Female Sexual Experience?

We know from many descriptive studies that female cannabis users reported enhanced sexual function, increased desire and greater intensity of orgasm.

So how does CBD work to hasten and improve the quality of female orgasm? We’re still learning about the complicated physiology of feminine arousal and climax. Here’s what we know.

The endocannabinoid system (our own, body made versions of CBD like compounds) is involved in female pleasure. Increased amounts of endogenous (body-made) cannabinoids including Arachidonyl ethanol amide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol are linked to increased female sexual arousal.

It makes perfect sense that activation of our endocannabinoid system using CBD can improve female sexual function.

We also know that in order for a woman to surrender to intense orgasm requires relaxation, disinhibition, and freedom from anxiety. CBD provokes relaxation. Breaking down barriers to orgasm can improve sexual experiences leading to enhanced desire, arousal and physical satisfaction. While especially important for woman scarred by sexual pain, battling conditions like vaginismus, these effects can improve sexual satisfaction for all pleasure seekers.

Finally, we know that cannabinoid receptor such as CB1 are present in neurons that secrete serotonin, the key neurotransmitter associated with happiness and feelings of well being, which is released in abundance as part of female climax.
